CIRRUS Survey: Towards an EU framework for CSP security

Towards an EU framework for CSP security: a CIRRUS Survey. The objective of this survey is to gather information on security activities as well as future priorities in cloud computing. The main scope is to study the security aspects of cloud by scanning the industrial interest and validation priorities of different actors. In detail we want to collect information on the usefulness of cloud services (from providers, customers etc) and the ease of using it in respect to security and privacy, not forgetting trust and compliance issues.

First CIRRUS Newsletter

An updated version of the first CIRRUS Newsletter released in February is already available. This Newsletter includes information on future CIRRUS events in Kyoto (24/7) and in Vienna (19/11), news on other projects and initiatives, EU policy and strategy and interesting articles on standardization, certification and internationalization.

CIRRUS in the EU ICT Trust & Security Project Clustering

CIRRUS has participated in the Trust and Security Project Clustering open communication event held in Brussels on 7th February. An overview of the project was presented in the meeting with special focus on the on-going activities.

All participants were invited to attend the next CIRRUS event at the Cloudscape V on 28th February in Brussels, as well as to participate in the on-going survey on Security Research Priorities.

Cloud Security in 2013

RSA coordinates a group of security executives from Global 1000 enterprises called the "Security for Business Innovation Council" (SBIC). In its report, "Information Security Shake-Up," SBIC group said that "Middle managers don't want to use their resources on security.

Cloud Services Security Authorization in USA

The USA federal government issued the first government-wide security authorization for a cloud computing service as part of the new Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP).
The FedRAMP program will eventually be a mandatory, common approach to ensuring that cloud computing services meet federal cybersecurity requirements.
