The EU funded CIRRUS project (Certification, InteRnationalisation and standaRdization in cloUd Security, http://www.cirrus-project.eu/) aims to bring together representatives of industry organizations, law enforcement agencies, cloud services providers, standard and certification services organizations, cloud consumers, auditors, data protection authorities, policy makers, software component industry etc. with per-se interests in security and privacy issues in cloud computing.

Draft version of the CIRRUS Green Paper on Cloud Security

This draft version of CIRRUS Green Paper aims to foster discussion and debate on three fundamental pillars in cloud security namely, certification, standardization and international issue. Furthermore, in order to cover the relevant technological, socio-economical and legal aspects this document analyses five different perspectives: security, privacy and data protection, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), interoperability and forensics.

New Cloud Security Framework from ITU

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is the United Nations specialized agency in the field of telecommunications, information and communication technologies (ICTs). ITU has issued recommendation ITU-T X.1601 describes the security framework for cloud computing. A framework methodology is provided for determining which security capabilities will require specification for mitigating security threats and addressing security challenges for cloud computing.

Trusted Cloud Europe

A report called Trusted Cloud Europe was prepared by the European Cloud Partnership (ECP) to propose options on how to help public & private organisations in Europe buy and sell cloud services in a safe & trusted environment.

New reports on Cloud Certification

ENISA has published a report on Cloud Certification initatives and has now online Cloud Certification Schemes List (CCSL) - a list of different certification schemes which could be relevant for potential cloud computing customers.
In parallel, in the context of the DG CONNECT study on cloud computing certification, anotehr report is being drafted by Trilateral Research & Consulting. THis report will be presented at CLOUD COMPUTING CERTIFICATION WORKSHOP on April 3rd in Amsterdam (day after Secure Cloud Conference).

New EU Magazine on Cloud Computing

A new magaizne called net-future Clouds has been Published by European Commission’s DG CONNECT
(Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology). It gives an overview of EU policy, as well as the main research projects:

EU cybersecurity strategy update

DG Connect will organise on 28th February a High-level conference in Brussels to present the progress achieved in the year after the publication of the EU Cybersecurity Strategy

Open Call for CSP Forum

This year Cybersecurity and Privacy Forum is co-located with the Annual privacy Forum in Athens on May 21-22nd. CIRRUS will be presented in one of the sessions.

Registration is now open for Cloud Security summer school

The Cloud Security summer school aims to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners interested in the latest research developments in the area of Security in the Cloud.
The school, to be held in Malaga from 2 to 6th of June, is conducted in cooperation with EU research projects CIRRUS, CocoCloud, SPECS and CUMULUS.
